This weekend Saturday 14 November, St Brendan’s College will host a Regional Rugby 7s Carnival.
The Carnival will comprise male and female teams in the U/13, U/15 & U/18 divisions within the Rockhampton and District Secondary Schools Competition.
The College is hosting the Carnival to provide male and female students in the district the opportunity to participate in one of the fastest growing sports in the world.
It has been quite a year with most sports and sporting fixtures cancelled in the school environment, so this is a great chance for all participants to be involved in this fast-paced sport and challenge themselves, while also and most importantly having fun with their peers.
St Brendan’s College Director of Sport, Mr Dallas Williams said ‘The St Brendan’s 7s is a fantastic opportunity for schools from across Rockhampton and District to not only showcase the quality of 7s talent that we have in this area but to also provide both male and female students with another sporting avenue. ‘
With Rugby 7s now a permanent fixture in both the Commonwealth and Olympic Games he believes it is imperative that students from across the region are given opportunities to progress along this exciting pathway’.
PLEASE NOTE: Unfortunately, due to COVID-19 Event Regulations the carnival is closed to all spectators.
The Carnival will commence at 9:00am, ending at approximately 3.00pm.
