St Brendan’s College was once again filled with energy and House pride for our annual Interhouse Cross Country Carnival held on Thursday 24 April 2025 — and in an impressive return to form, Duhig House has reclaimed the championship title for the first time since 2019.
While Duhig has long dominated in the pool — winning the swimming carnival for an incredible 11 years in a row — it seems their swimmers have turned into runners, bringing home a well-earned cross country victory after a five-year break.
This year saw a record number of participants, and for the first time, the College issued colour-coded wristbands to competitors to support event coordination and safety. This initiative was introduced in response to our growing student population and ensured a smooth and efficient flow of races throughout the afternoon.
🕐 Race Schedule:
-
1:05pm – Senior runners (4 km) – Red
-
1:10pm – U/16 runners (4 km) – Pink

While Duhig celebrated the overall House victory, the day was ultimately a celebration of community, participation, and spirit. The College extends its congratulations to all students who took part and thanks the staff and volunteers who helped deliver a well-organised and successful event.
