On Tuesday, 29 April, St Brendan’s College warmly welcomed over 300 grandparents, who joined 200 students for our Annual Grandparents Morning Tea.
Our College was filled with joy and pride as families gathered—some travelling from as far as Townsville and the South East Corner to attend. We are truly grateful to all who took the time to be with us and celebrate the important role grandparents play in the lives of our young men and within our College community.
The morning began with a warm welcome from Principal Robert Corboy, who shared updates on the many exciting developments at the College. His address highlighted the direction of our learning programs and infrastructure, reaffirming our commitment to providing meaningful opportunities for all students.
School Captain Cameron Da Forno followed, speaking with heart on the impact grandparents have in shaping the lives of their grandchildren. His words captured the deep respect and gratitude our students feel toward their grandparents.
The event was MC’ed by Jack Ingram, and Prefect for Gospel and Spirituality, Jesse McWhinney, led the gathering in Grace before a beautiful morning tea was served.
Guests were treated to performances by our music students and drumline, which added a celebratory atmosphere to the morning. A photo booth captured special memories, and students proudly guided their grandparents through tours of the College museum, artspace, and key learning spaces.
We extend our sincere thanks to all who attended—your presence made the day truly special. It was a memorable morning of connection, reflection, and celebration of the enduring bonds between generations.
