Not Now, Not Ever! Taking a Stance Against Domestic and Family Violence.
Today, students and staff rallied together to make a solid statement against domestic and family violence, participating in the College’s fifth annual ‘Walk Against Domestic and Family Violence’. With 1000 students and staff walking together it is one of the largest collectives of men in Central Queensland representing sons, brothers, husbands and future husbands and fathers. United under the ‘Not Now, Not Ever’ message, it is hoped that bringing awareness to this devastating behaviour plaguing communities across the nation will affirm the anti-violence message through our community. Annually the walk happens in conjunction with the College’s Edmund Rice Feast Day and brings everyone together in justice and solidarity.
A big thankyou to guest speaker and Old Boy Jason Bongers. Jason is the School Officer for Edmund Rice Foundation Australia and addressed the boys at the Main Beach in Yeppoon with a strong anti-violence statement.
