Athlete of the Year
Carter Ford. Historically, our athlete of the year award is awarded to the Open Age Champion. Carter ran, jumped and threw the house down at our Interhouse Athletics Carnival where he claimed age champion in the Open age group. He went onto represent the college with distinction at the Rockhampton District carnival qualifying for district representation in a number of events. Congratulations Carter.
Swimmer of the Year
This year there is a tie with swimmer of the year being awarded to Lachlan Mortimer and Kalani Walsh. Similar to our athlete of the year, this award is presented to the Open Age Champion from our Interhouse Carnival. Both Lachlan and Kalani battled it out all night in the pool and could not be separated in the end. Congratulations Lachlan and Kalani.
Junior Sportsman of the Year
Junior Sportsman of the Year is Narasi Jimmy. Narasi has represented the College in no less than 5 sports including Track & Field, Rugby League, Rugby Union, Rugby 7’s and Volleyball. He is a human highlights reel with a ball in hand, a sand pit to jump into or a running track to run on. A highlight from his Track & Field exploits was when he broke the 15yrs triple jump record which had stood since 1979 with a jump of 12.51m. In addition to this he also went on to gain representative selection in the sports of Track & Field, Rugby Union and Volleyball. Congratulations Narasi.
Senior Sportsman of the Year
Senior Sportsman of the Year is Riley Earnshaw. Riley has represented the College with distinction in at least 3 sports including Touch Football, Track & Field and Cross Country where he was the Open Age Champion. He was also successful in Rockhampton District representation in Track & Field, Cross Country and Touch Football as well as further selection and representation in the Open Capricornia Touch Football team. Congratulations Riley.
