St Brendan’s College proudly celebrated the outstanding achievements of 204 Middle School students and 272 Senior School students at the Term 1 Academic and Learner Attribute Assemblies, held in the College’s Performing Arts Centre. These events recognised the academic dedication, personal growth, and commitment to studies of our students.
MIDDLE SCHOOL ASSEMBLY: HONOURING YEAR 8 & 9 ACHIEVEMENT
The Middle School ceremony brought together students, families, and staff to acknowledge the effort and commitment demonstrated in Semester 2, 2025. In total, 204 Year 8 and 9 students were recognised for academic excellence and personal learner attributes.
Academic Awards Recognised
Students across both year levels were celebrated for:
- Academic Achievement Awards
- Academic A Awards
- Academic A Plus Awards
Across the two cohorts, students collectively earned:
- 72 Academic Achievement Awards
- 74 Academic A Awards
- 58 Academic A Plus Awards
These remarkable results reflect the strong study habits, resilience, and determination of Middle School students.
Learner Attribute Excellence
The Learner Attribute Awards recognising preparation, cooperation, engagement, and completion of home learning, were awarded at bronze, silver, and gold levels.
Middle School totals included:
- 24 Bronze recipients
- 6 Silver recipients
- 7 Gold recipients
These awards highlight the qualities that shape effective learners and well-rounded young men.
Darcy Frankish’s energetic performance of the Australian classic Down Under
SENIOR SCHOOL ASSEMBLY: RECOGNISING YEARS 10–12 ACADEMIC DISTINCTION
The Senior Academic Assembly acknowledged 272 students across Years 10, 11, and 12, honouring a broad range of academic and personal achievements.
Academic Accomplishments
Students were recognised at three academic levels, highlighting their sustained commitment to learning across senior subjects.
Breakdown by cohort included:
- Year 10: 25 Achievement, 26 Academic A, 30 Academic A Plus
- Year 11: 22 Achievement, 28 Academic A, 27 Academic A Plus
- Year 12: 37 Achievement, 39 Academic A, 45 Academic A Plus
These results represent outstanding individual effort in a demanding academic environment.
Learner Attribute Awards
Senior students also excelled in the four core Learner Attributes, receiving recognition across Bronze, Silver, and Gold categories:
- Year 10: 4 Bronze, 5 Silver, 4 Gold
- Year 11: 7 Bronze, 1 Silver, 1 Gold
- Year 12: 3 Bronze, 4 Silver, 2 Gold
The increasing number of students meeting the criteria this year demonstrates strong engagement with study routines and learning behaviours.
Special Presentations: Dux & VET Student of the Year
Returning graduates Tjaart Van der Walt (Dux 2025) and Nate Brooks (VET Student of the Year 2025) were welcomed back to receive their official cheques and share heartfelt messages of wisdom and inspiration. Both spoke with sincerity, reflecting on their journeys and encouraging current students to strive for excellence.
Music Performances
Senior students were treated to two exceptional musical moments:
- Victor Comiskey performed the Latin jazz classic Recorda Me, supported by Mr Ingram on piano
- Darcy Frankish energised the assembly with a dynamic performance of Down Under
With 476 students recognised across Middle and Senior School, the Term 1 Assemblies reflect the commitment, resilience, and passion for learning that define the young men of St Brendan’s College.
