Child Safeguarding
Child safeguarding is the collective responsibility of all adults to protect children and young people from harm and to promote their safety and wellbeing. It encompasses the policies, practices and behaviours that create environments where children are respected, supported, listened to and protected from abuse, neglect, exploitation and other forms of harm.
As a Child Safe Entity, the College works to implement effective safeguarding practices, meet legislative obligations and continuously strengthen our child-safe culture. We actively promote the participation of children and young people in matters that affect them, encourage them to speak up when they feel unsafe, and ensure them that their concerns are responded to promptly and appropriately.
We recognise that safeguarding is not simply about compliance; it is an expression of our Catholic faith and our understanding of the uniqueness of each child. Together, we strive to create a community where every child is known, valued, protected and given the opportunity to thrive.
We encourage all members of our community (students, staff, volunteers, contractors, parents and carers) to familiarise themselves with our child safeguarding policies, procedures and reporting processes, and join us in maintaining a culture of safety for all children.
