Historic Win for St Brendan’s College Cattle Club at Rockhampton Show

St Brendan’s College is celebrating a landmark achievement following an outstanding performance by its Cattle Club at the Rockhampton Show between 11-12 June, securing the FeedPro Australian Secondary School Challenge for the first time in 16 years.
The victory in the Overall Stud and Commercial Cattle Interschool Challenge reflects the strength of the College’s agricultural program and the dedication of students who competed across paraders and judging competitions.
Leading the way was Max Sedgman, who was named Champion All Rounder and winner of the Couti Ouiti Brangus Stud Secondary School Student Aggregate Award, recognising him as the competition’s leading secondary school competitor.
Max Sedgman proudly displays the Champion All-Round Competitor of the Show award, sponsored by FeedPro Australia, after an exceptional performance across the parading and cattle judging events at the Rockhampton Show.

The results highlight the depth of talent within the St Brendan’s Cattle Club, with students demonstrating exceptional knowledge, presentation skills and professionalism throughout the competition.

A key contributor to the success of the program is Head of Agriculture and Cattle Club Coordinator, Mr Bill Oram, whose leadership, expertise and commitment continue to provide students with invaluable opportunities to develop their skills in cattle handling, judging and animal husbandry. Through his guidance and mentorship, and time, students are able to gain practical industry experience while building the confidence and knowledge required to compete at a high level.
