Two St Brendan's College students have recently been recognised for their musical talent, travelling to Brisbane to participate in esteemed honours music programs that bring together some of the state's most accomplished young musicians.
Alexander took part in the State Honours Ensemble Program (SHEP), coordinated by Queensland Conservatorium Griffith University. The program provides talented secondary school musicians from across Queensland with the opportunity to rehearse and perform in high-quality ensembles while receiving expert tuition from leading music educators and conductors.
William was selected for the Australian Honours Ensemble Program (AHEP), an audition-based program that runs in conjunction with SHEP. Students are nominated by their music teachers and undertake a competitive video audition process, with successful applicants invited to participate in the program.
Both SHEP and AHEP provide invaluable ensemble experiences, advanced musical training, and opportunities for students to grow as performers while collaborating with like-minded musicians from across the country.
Selection for these programs is a significant achievement and a testament to the dedication, hard work, and musical excellence demonstrated by both students.
St Brendan's College congratulates Alexander and William on this outstanding accomplishment and wishes them every success in their future musical endeavours.
