Experience the Power of Music at St Brendan's College
Music at St Brendan’s College is practical, hands-on, and immersive—there are no school desks in our music department! Instead, students are actively engaged in playing, creating, and performing from day one. With three timetabled music lessons per week, and assessed like any other subject, ensuring students develop their skills in a dynamic and interactive environment.
Contemporary Ensemble
Play in a modern rock band setting, developing performance skills in guitar, bass guitar, percussion, and keyboard. This course also covers music theory, history, composition, and musicianship, following national (AMEB) and international music standards.
Concert Band
Learn to play a brass, woodwind, or percussion instrument, and perform in a group ensemble, experiencing the energy and dynamics of live performance. Students are assigned an instrument to ensure a strong foundation in technique and musicianship.
Music Theory and Performance (MTP)
Offers additional training with specialist support to strengthen skills in theory, technique, and performance.
Private Music Lessons
In addition to classroom music, private music lessons are available for students wanting to further develop their skills. These lessons are scheduled during school hours and rotate through the student timetable to minimize disruption to other subjects. Private lessons incur an additional charge beyond standard College fees.
With opportunities to perform, create, and grow, the St Brendan’s College Music Program fosters a love of music while equipping students with the skills to excel.
