The Technical Production Crew provides students with basic knowledge and realistic hands-on experience; in the audio, lighting, vision and staging elements that sustain the live entertainment industry.
Available to students from Years 9 to 12, participants work on the technical setup, operation and pack-up for the variety of SBC Events. The majority of these are held in our Chapel and Performing Arts Centre, which was purpose-built and features industry standard equipment.
In their first year, students undertake an afterschool two hour tutorial once per week, which helps develop basic skills and team work. In later years, students continue to work to extend their skill set in specialist areas, and to assist younger students in their development.
The production requirements for diverse events can occur across the school day, and on evenings and weekends (e.g. concerts, awards presentations, musicals, formals, etc). The hands-on nature of the live production industry also dictates a moderate to high degree of regular physical activity, including moving and lifting equipment, and basic construction.
