Indigenous Dance Groups

St Brendan’s are very fortunate to be culturally immersed with the traditional owners of Australia, the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders, and to have four dance groups that perform on a regular basis. 

• We have the MURRI BUNJI dance group; Aboriginal boys in the Central and Northern Queensland area. 
• We have the ISLANDERS from the Torres Strait Islands. 

Each group display and perform its own traditional dances from the various areas they live.

The Indigenous Dance Groups perform at St Brendan’s College and at St Peter’s primary school.

The College is proud to support our Indigenous students with the opportunity to share their culture with the wider community and believes the students play a very significant and important role in education and awareness across cultures.
