Academic Excellence Opens Opportunity at St Brendans College

Record number of students awarded for their achievement at Academic Assembly.

St Brendan’s College students have shown outstanding commitment to their studies and have been recognised for their hard work, focus and dedication. In the company of fellow students, teachers and proud parents, last years recipients were inducted into the school annals on Wednesday, providing a strong and positive start to the new academic year.
“A record number of 265 students from Years 8-12 at the College were recognised in the Academic Assembly 12 February 2020. That is 32% of students (based on 2019 numbers), a 23% increase from the previous year, which is a tremendous result and we are very proud,” Principal Robert Corby said.

The event and recognition serve to recognise and encourage students to strive to achieve their best and set benchmarks for continued excellence. It is recognised that boys learn through goals, challenges and targets so staff ensure these are present for students to constantly reach forward.
While St Brendan’s College is more than an education, with an emphasis on the development of the whole person, and, the need to grow boys into respectful, confident and successful young men of faith, the College has a strong academic and extra-curricular program which offers multiple pathways for students to pursue tertiary education in a field of their choosing or move into trade-based qualifications.

Principal Mr Robert Corby has said “Boys learn in a specific way and we ensure we accommodate this and nurture students of all ability, providing the greatest opportunity and pathways to grow and prosper. As a College we always look at what we do and how we can make it better. Staff continually look at the latest in educational research to ensure best practice“.
If parents would like to explore the opportunities available for their son/s at St Brendan’s College, they invite students and parents to the St Brendan’s Discover Day. The event allows for an experience of a ‘day in the life’ of a St Brendan’s student. Aimed at Year 6 students commencing Year 7 next year, however students from other year levels considering enrolling at the College in 2021 are most welcome to attend.

To book your attendance to Discovery Day, please RSVP to Enrolment Officer Kylie Hedges
