The Crest

The college badges which have been used by St Brendan's since its foundation in 1940.

Present

The present crest was adopted in 2005. It depicts St Brendan the Navigator as the central image and is inspired by the picture of St Brendan that first appeared in the 1949 Annual Magazine.

The Third Crest: 1959-2005

The third crest was introduced in 1959 and simplified the symbols to the Book of Scriptures and the boat of St Brendan.

The Second Crest: 1952-1959

The second crest with the Motto: "Ne Dubita Dabitur":"Do Not Doubt, It Will Be Given" was used from 1952-1959. It incorporated the Book of the Scriptures and the Star of Knowledge from the original badge and added the boat of St Brendan and the symbol of the expulsion of Evil (the snake) from Ireland.

The Traditional Crest: 1940-1952

The traditional Christian Brother's Badge with the motto: "Facere Et Docere": "To Do and To Teach."
